Struvite
The struvite that AquaMinerals markets comes from municipal wastewater treatment plants. Struvite is a mineral with the formula Mg(NH4)PO4.6(H2O) (magnesium ammonium phosphate). It can occur as an undesirable deposition in installation pipes, damaging them and leading to high maintenance costs. This is one key reason why the waterboards are increasingly removing struvite as a preventive measure.
The struvite looks like coarse sea salt, and is both odourless and colourless.
AquaMinerals markets the struvite for various waterboards. The delivered struvite streams satisfy the REACH provisions.
Because of its high Mg and P content, the struvite is very suitable for use as a nutrient in agriculture.
